Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is another modality that allows a patient to heal. Whereas, Reiki focuses on the physical, Hypnotherapy targets the mental. These two modalities when combined together can and will create miracles. Our brains have two components, the first is our conscious mind which is the area of the mind that we interact with. I will call this the President. The President is in charge of everything that we do, shopping, cleaning, working, eating and so on. The President is very busy and his job is to make sure everything runs smoothly. He is only concerned with following orders and seeing them through. The second part of our brain is our subconscious (unconscious). This is the area of the brain that stores everything we have ever experienced including thoughts and feelings. It also controls our heartbeat, blood pressure, our immune system, and most importantly our bodies on a cellular level. I will call this the CEO, the commander. During Hypnotherapy it is important to quiet the conscious mind, the President, to let him rest and be still while the subconscious mind – the CEO is reached. At this point, new rules, new ideas, are shown to the CEO who readily accepts them for the good of the human being and disburses them down to The President. This metaphor is the easiest way to understand that the conscious mind will do what is best for us when it is instructed to do so. This is how hypnotherapy works and why I have spent almost half my life bringing Hypnotherapy and Reiki together. I hope that this helps you understand that Hypnotherapy is a positive experience that can help with many issues. |
